Quirkat is a game of ancient Egyptian origin which
was brought by the Arabs to Spain in the 8th century.
The compulsory rule forcing a player to take whenever
possible was introduced in France around 1535. Quirkat
is the predecessor of the well-known game checkers.
The players alternately move one of their pieces along
a line to the next crossing point or jump over one or
multiple of the opponents pieces. If a player can jump,
he must do so and may not make another move. A player
wins when he has jumped all of the opponents pieces.
